Digiflavor is not a well-known brand yet. Like almost all vaping gear manufacturers they are a Chinese company, with access to world-class machining and manufacturing facilities. They could be churning out vast quantities of vaping pens or e-cigs for the massive Chinese vaping market right on their doorstep. Instead, they only offer two modest mods as a vehicle for their primary product line: vaping tanks for flavor freaks. How does their Pilgrim GTA tank stack up against other well-known brands? We had to compare it to the best sub ohm tanks on the market.
Digiflavor's company identity and confidence seem to increase as their products improve. The new digiflavor pilgrim gta proudly bears an idiosyncratic 'man of mystery' engraving which looks positively awesome! It's a solid-looking piece of gear with a gold-coloured Ultem glass tank and drip tip, combined with a stainless steel silver or black chamber.
The machining is brilliant with no catches on the threads or parts, and the unit exhibits impressive build quality. The total size is 34mm high without the drip tip, 25mm diameter, and a very generous 4ml juice capacity.
You can fill the Ultem juice tank by unscrewing the airflow chamber and dripping it into the channel when you build the deck, or unscrew the drip tip and use the two kidney holes for painless top-filling. The two refill holes are each positioned at 90 degrees away from the two airflow slots (on opposite sides to the airflow slots) – an ingenious design that prevents e-juice gushing out via the airflow holes.
The gold-coloured reinforced Ultem juice barrel is slightly opaque, and you may need to hold it up to the light to check exact e-juice level, but it looks so good that we cannot call it a drawback. If you put this tank on one of the best vape or box mods then this tank really does deliver.
The gold color of the juice tank matches the proprietary Ultem drip tip, which is permanently attached to the wide-bore top cap ring. If you want to use a Delrin drip tip, just unscrew the top cap with the Ultem, and replace with the 510 top cap and adapter ring which is generously provided in the kit. All of your 810- and 510-sized accessories should be compatible.
You can use either dual or single airflow to match your deck. Rotate the ring to adjust airflow – Digiflavor's flavor devotee designers made sure that the air hits the coils from underneath to provide spot-on taste. You should check that the airflow opening is lined up with your coils before you start puffing. The one small disadvantage to this brilliant tank is that there is no stopper to make sure that the venting holes stay aligned with the coils.
The building is painless on the centered velocity-style deck with its four post holes, and you can position and raise the coils to your liking. The chamber is large, but may not accommodate huge exotic builds. It is ample for dual Alien or Fused Clapton coils (coils not included). Users who like to take the entire tank apart for cleaning may be disappointed that the build deck cannot be separated from the tank, although it's easy enough to wipe with soft, absorbent paper.
